What makes KCPR Radio different from other oldies stations?: In the 1950s American Music tastes were changing,
the younger generation was looking for there own sound! And from Rhythm and Blues and Roots styles of music,
a new hybred was born... Rock and Roll! Most commercial Oldies stations today are playing less and less of this
venue! But on KCPR Radio - We are keeping that original sound alive! Not only that .... We are playing the rarities,
lesser known songs of groups of the 50's and early 60's -- From the East Coast and West Coast Doo wop sounds,
from the South the sounds of Rockabilly, the blending of the new sound of Rock mixed with the hillbilly music
of the rural portions of the U.S. made famous from the SUN Record Studios. We also differ that we also will play
several unreleased versions and alternate versions and shows celebrating the different venues of the first decade
of Rock and Roll -- So give us a listen and we invite you to come and see what's
going on at KCPR Radio!
